The lip on the front of the drawers makes for easy opening while retaining a clean, minimalist appearance. Solid oak construction with clean, flat surfaces and shape combines to create a modern, strong piece that will last for years to come with the right care.

Initial Concept

Australian-designed, Scandinavian-inspired, artisan crafted - and all from sustainable American forests. Our Scandinavian style furniture is made from high-quality American oak, the initial concept of the Anya Bedside Table was a beautiful, generational piece of furniture in the style of Scandi furniture but designed and crafted to make a house a home and built to last. 

Additionally, the Anya Scandinavian designed Bedside Table was created to fit into the Icon By Design family of Scandi decor pieces, including bed frames and console tables - perfect for creating a space to relax and rejuvenate.

Sourcing of Materials

We work hard to ensure that we’re always producing sustainable furniture. For example, the solid American oak which makes up the bulk of the Anya Bedside Table  is sourced from American forests which embrace sustainable principles - meaning the timber is sustainably harvested, works to restore the ecosystem, implements a replanting process, undertakes consistent environmental monitoring, and respects the land rights of indigenous peoples. We also use oak because it's hardy and it lasts - it has a natural strength which makes it ideal for the interior home environment. Unlike veneered furniture, there's less damage from wear and tear so you don't have to throw it out to replace it with something equally replaceable. 

Our solid timber furniture is a provider of carbon storage and therefore has a positive effect on the planet by containing carbon, and its regrowth in sustainable managed forests adds to the carbon emission reduction. 

By crafting our solid American oak furniture, such as the Anya Bedside Table, from timber we are doing the best we can on the planet - making pieces that last through the generations and rejecting the tread of flat-pack, cheap, disposable, replaceable veneer furniture. 

What to Furnish With?

There is much variation in American oak colour, depending upon the forest it is sourced from and the cut of timber used. It is a versatile timber, with natural variations that can't be helped, but should work in with any other American Oak item very nicely. 

Style the Anya Bedside Table with colours from palettes drawn from Scandinavian design style:

• Deeper turmeric

Available in a king and queen size - suitable for Australian king and queen size mattresses, the bed head is also available as a stand alone item of furniture to create a beautiful, Scandi-inspired bedroom.
