HAAUS.6 × IconByDesign

A Collaboration of Timeless Coastal Living

When we were invited to be part of HAAUS.6, the coastal family home by HAAUS, it was immediately clear this was a project closely aligned with our values - one that prioritises how a home feels to live in, not just how it looks.

Defined by natural materials, thoughtful proportions and an effortless connection between spaces, HAAUS.6 feels grounded, welcoming and deeply liveable - a response to modern Australian coastal living.

Furniture selections were led by the HAAUS team, with a clear focus on pieces that would sit comfortably within the architecture rather than compete with it. Integrated thoughtfully, each piece enhances warmth, comfort and cohesion without drawing attention away from the overall design - making IconByDesign a natural fit.

A Family Home That Breathes Calm

More than a beautifully designed house, HAAUS.6 is a sanctuary of relaxed luxury. Designed to blur the line between indoors and outdoors, the home embraces soft textures, natural light and an open-plan flow that feels intuitive and inviting.

Ease of living sits at the core of every design decision. From durable external stone selections to low maintenance landscaping, busy family living was prioritised throughout.

This approach extends to the selection of solid timber furniture - pieces designed to age gracefully alongside family life. Practical details, such as a dedicated mudroom nook, help keep everyday mess contained without compromising the home’s calm aesthetic.

Curved architectural forms inside and out provide a confident foundation, while interior furnishings, fixtures and textures soften and warm the spaces, ensuring the home feels comfortable and lived-in rather than styled for effect.

Each room reflects a consistent design language rooted in natural materials, tactile textures and restraint. In the bathroom, this is expressed through the round bath and tile selections from Amber, paired with brushed brass fittings by ADP. Light moves easily through the home, while a considered balance between open gathering spaces and quieter retreats supports the rhythm of daily life.

Where Family Life Unfolds

At the heart of the home is a generous open-plan living, dining and kitchen zone designed for connection, everyday moments and easy entertaining.

IconByDesign pieces help ground the architecture and soften clean lines. The Anika Modular Corner Sofa in Clay forms an inviting foundation, with its timber detailing and structured yet soft cushioning offering comfort and longevity well suited to family life. The Magnus Oval Coffee Table and matching side table in solid American oak anchor the living area with warmth and craftsmanship. Underfoot, the Layla Handwoven Loop Pile Wool Rug adds texture and comfort, subtly defining the space.

In the dining area, the Olivia Rectangular Dining Table in solid American oak becomes a natural gathering point, paired with Magnus Leather Dining Chairs in cream for a relaxed yet refined setting. At the kitchen island, Anton Bar Stools provide practical, everyday perch for casual meals and conversation.

Together, these pieces contribute to a space that feels balanced, enduring and genuinely lived-in, aligning seamlessly with the home’s coastal palette and light-filled design.

Spaces Designed to Slow Down

Beyond the main living areas, the home transitions into quieter, more intimate spaces. Bathrooms and ensuites echo the soft luxury established downstairs, while children’s bedrooms encourage creativity and calm in equal measure. Bedrooms are designed as true retreats, where simplicity allows light, proportion and materiality to take centre stage.

In the master bedroom, the Olivia Rounded Bed Frame in American oak anchors the space, complemented by Olivia Bedside Tables and the Olivia Console Table. A Gerda Hand Knotted New Zealand Wool Rug in Buttercream adds softness underfoot, while the Mysa Fabric Armchair in Camel Beige creates a quiet corner for pause.

A textured Venetian plaster wallpaper by Olive et Oriel provides a subtle backdrop, adding depth without overpowering the room. Furniture here is intentionally understated, supporting rest and retreat while maintaining the home’s cohesive design language.

Our Final Thoughts

HAAUS.6 is a considered expression of modern coastal living  shaped by light, materiality and a deep understanding of how families live. From open, welcoming communal spaces to moments of quiet retreat, every element works together with ease.

What makes this project so compelling is its cohesion. Architecture, interiors and furniture feel intrinsically connected, allowing the home to evolve naturally over time.

We’re proud to have been included in a project where furniture is chosen with such care contributing to a home designed not just to be admired, but to be truly lived in.
